Sometimes the cutting is already done and what is left is a heap of material nobody can move. Sometimes a job produces far more than the council collection will take. Either way, removal is a service on its own as well as part of a clearance.
We Are a Registered Waste Carrier
Which matters more than it sounds, because part of the legal responsibility for your waste stays with you until it is handed to somebody entitled to take it. Ask us for the registration number and we will give it to you; it is checkable free on the Environment Agency's public register.
Ask anybody quoting for this, not just us. It is a one-line question and the answer separates an operator who is tipping legally from one who is not — which is usually the explanation when a quotation comes back dramatically cheaper than everybody else's. There is more on how that duty works in the advice article linked below.

What We Take
- Green waste — cuttings, prunings, brambles, leaves, turf
- Brash and branches, chipped on site where a chipper can reach
- Cordwood and timber from tree work
- Old fence panels, posts and treated timber, as a separate stream
- Soil and rubble, as a separate stream
- Dumped household items found during a clearance
- Everything from a job we have carried out, as part of it
What We Do Not Take
Asbestos, which turns up in old shed and garage roofs and needs a licensed specialist — tell us beforehand if you have any reason to think it is there. Japanese knotweed is controlled waste with strict disposal rules and is handled separately. Paint, fuel and chemicals found in sheds go to a household hazardous waste facility rather than with the green waste.
Where It Goes
Green waste is chipped where volume justifies it, which reduces it dramatically, then composted or used for biomass. Clean timber goes for firewood; treated timber goes as wood waste, which costs more to dispose of. Nothing useful is landfilled and nothing is burned on site.
Keeping Some of It Cuts the Bill
Disposal is a real line on the price, so anything that stays on site comes off it. Tell us at the quotation which of these you want:
- Chip, for surfacing a path or mulching a border
- Logs, if you burn them — cut to a length you specify and stacked where you want them
- A brash or log pile in a shaded corner for wildlife
- Any decent topsoil the work turns up
Skips and Council Collections
Both have their place and both have limits. A skip on the road usually needs a council licence. Council green waste collections cap both quantity and stem thickness, and a clearance will exceed them comfortably. For most jobs, removal included in the work is cheaper and considerably less trouble than arranging it separately.

Garden Waste Removal — Common Questions
Are you a registered waste carrier?
Yes, and we will give you the registration number on request. You can check it free on the Environment Agency's public register.
Can you take waste I've already cut?
Yes. Removal is a job on its own as well as part of a clearance.
Will you take rubble and old fence panels?
Yes, as separate streams. They cost more to dispose of than green waste, so it helps to mention them when you enquire.
Can I keep the woodchip?
Yes, and it is useful as a path surface or a mulch. On the surface though, never dug in.
Do you burn anything on site?
No. Garden bonfires of green material are antisocial and depending on circumstances can amount to a statutory nuisance.
